At Cedar, our after school program offers children ages 3 to 8 a nurturing and creative space to continue learning, exploring, and connecting after their school day. Our afternoons are designed around curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on discovery, where every child’s ideas are valued and their voice is heard.

The program begins with walking pickup from the Peabody School in all seasons. This walk has become an important transition time, allowing children to debrief their day with a teacher and ease into the afternoon through conversation and connection. Once at Cedar, children settle in with a snack before engaging in free play and project based learning.

We end each day with an afternoon circle alongside our toddler community, incorporating music and movement. Children enjoy rhythm sticks, bean bag games, and shared group activities that support regulation, joy, and connection. In good weather, the afternoon often extends outdoors, with time spent at Cedar Street Park before pick up.
